Happy July, Dear Friends! And Happy Summer! 🙂 It’s time to recap the latest adventures…. All is well in Fairyland. The Flower Fairies have been busily carrying water to nourish all the flowers, and asking the Weather Fairies to please make it rain so the flowers won’t wilt. In the midst of all this warmth, they remain cheery. Fairy Forevermore says tea parties have been scarce this summer, as it’s so hot outside. Gnomes don’t mind the sunshine, but Fairies are more sensitive. (I must ask Gnomus what he’s been up to lately….) Currently, the animation studio is being rearranged and reorganized. It’s long overdue. Whenever I tried to animate before, I would get mentally stuck. Something just wasn’t working. I asked the girls about it, and Plum said, “Let’s move everything around. We need to see things afresh. This place isn’t stale, it’s just stagnant.” And she’s right. The Dolls and Fairies have a way of seeing everything with renewed appreciation. They never become jaded, and neither should I. Now the studio looks completely different, and feels much more alive. This place is filled with a new energy that’s been dormant for so long. I can feel the creative gears starting to turn again. It’s similar to how I felt back in February, when the yarn and crochet hooks emerged again, and the joy of costuming returned. Speaking of costume design…. The girls shared their matching pajamas earlier this month. I crocheted Little Orchid’s pajama set back in 2019, shortly after she arrived. Plum’s was made in 2024, and Mia’s was completed this month. Three different scales, three different crochet hooks, three different patterns, over three different years… and one Doll Family, eager to begin the next part of this journey. Overall, this month has been more introspective, looking at what works and what can be better. And holding onto every moment of positivity, no matter how fleeting. Now it’s time to focus on set building, as the Dolls gather their furniture and props together. I’ve learned to politely step aside and let them choose what they would like in their space. Little Orchid wants the dollhouse to be filled with earthy tones and wooden furniture; Plum wants anything pastel and sparkly and floral; and Mia wants blues and purples with ornate vases. Somehow, they will reach an agreement. That’s all for now, Dear Friends. Thank you for reading the latest from Plum Village. The Dolls, Fairies and I wish you a magical and joyful month ahead! 💖 See you in July! 💐
One lovely morning, Mia, Little Orchid and Plum tiptoed outside in their matching pajamas, looking for their Nature Fairy friends. They tiptoed past the window and peeked at the flowerbeds, doing their best not to disturb the quiet calmness all around them. 💚 “Where are the Fairies?” whispered Mia. 💭 “I think they’re busy amongst the flowers,” Little Orchid whispered back. “Hold on to your nightcaps, dears! The wind is picking up.” 🌸 Mia looked at the greenery around her. “I wish we could live out here, instead of being in the dollhouse all the time.” 🏡 “It would be nice,” agreed Plum. “Though I suppose we’d have to be more adept at living outdoors. The Fairies said there are many days when it’s very hot or very cold.” ☀️❄️ “We could always decorate our rooms to look like the outdoors,“ Little Orchid suggested. “Let’s see what furniture we can find in the dollhouse….” 🪴 ~ Happy Wednesday, Dear Friends! 💝 The girls couldn’t wait to share their matching outfits, now that each pajama set is done. 🧶 They’re also eager to begin the set building process in this animation journey. 🏠 I think it’s more fun to share from their perspectives. 😊 What do you think? 💭 Hope you’re having a lovely week! Big hugs ~ 💐
Happy June, Dear Friends! 🙂 As an exciting new month unfolds, the Fairies and Dolls send warm wishes for a beautiful summer, and reflect on all the lovely happenings of May. Here’s a recap: — After a long tricycle ride, Gnomus found a spot to nap, thanks to Fairy Vivetta and Little Sweet Pea. — The Flower Fairies were out and about, bringing parasols to protect them from the hot sun. — Fairy Gloria and Fairy Forevermore busily preserved flowers, as honorary Petal Gatherers of Fairyland. — Mia arrived! She enjoyed her first day outdoors, ready to embark on new adventures with the other Dolls. (This link goes to her introduction and doll review… the unboxing video is posted on Instagram. 🙂 ) — Shortly after her arrival, I crocheted her pajamas: shirt, pants, and nightcap. That completes the three matching pajama sets for Little Orchid, Plum, and Mia. Another Grand Step Forward, as Plum says. Now it’s time to begin another chapter at Plum Village Productions: set building, and animation. Thank you for joining us on this journey, Dear Friends. Stay tuned for more adventures! 🙂 Big hugs, Orchid & The Nature Fairies 💐
