Happy August! ☀️ The Dolls and Fairies have been staying cool this summer, and enjoying indoor tasks.
Now with these girls in the dollhouse most of the time, I’ve learned that boredom leads to mischief, and the discovery of new ideas that wouldn’t have existed before. As it happened, Mia noticed Plum’s winter coat, with the sparkling blue yarn. 💙
“Ooooooh!” she exclaimed. “How preeeeeeeeeeeetty!”
You can guess what happened next. 😉
Once one girl has an idea, the other girls group together and convince me that it’s the greatest thing ever.
“You see, we can’t possibly go outdoors in our pajamas all the time,” said Little Orchid, very sensibly.
“And yes, some of us already have tea party dresses,” added Plum, before I could point that out, “but some of us don’t. And it isn’t quite fair, is it?”
“Mm-hmm.”
“And we’d look SO lovely as triplets,” said Mia, still holding onto Plum’s coat.
So that’s how it happened. And here we are.

For Mia’s dress, I redesigned my original pattern for Plum’s tea party dress, using a tinier crochet hook for scale, and different increases for the bodice. I also added more increases to the skirt for extra volume. It took 3x longer than usual, but I’m really happy with how it looks. And for animation, Mia will be able to curtsy and twirl! 🧶
Plum also let Mia wear her hat, which was another original design. 👒
(Speaking of Plum, she’s sitting next to me, patiently waiting for her dress. 😂)
Hope you’re having a lovely summer, Dear Friends! 💖 July was a busy month, but creativity is still thriving in Fairyland. The girls are also eager to share their new studio layout soon. 🏠
Big hugs! 💐
